Games and Level Design
SCRAP HUNTERS
A University Collaborative project, my role was Junior Mechanic and Level Designer, and I worked within in the Design Team. This game was made in 8 weeks, along side another university module. The game is a Vertical Slice. The team was made up of over 20 people. Scrap Hunters is a multiplayer extraction shooter that features different classes and levels.

Scrap Hunters is a four player co-operative extraction shooter, each player has a unique class and a matching Ability. the game is just a demo, and it features one tutorial level and one full level. The Players must complete objectives and defeat enemies to upgrade their abilities and weapons and progress to further levels.
The team wanted to create an extraction shooter that could be played locally, and how we could design a game and levels that achieves this.
My jobs included:
- Making Enemy Design Behaviours and stats
- Doing research and creating documents for the visual effects
- Blocking and Meshing out the tutorial level
- Balancing Combat encounters in the level.
Whilst creating the Enemy diagrams I worked closely with the tech and art teams, to make sure that all the features and mechanic were not only feasible but the characters had been modelled with them in mind.
I took the game by myself to testing events, gathering information about the balancing of the characters, enemies and levels
This project really helped me understand what working in a large team is like. This project received a First for its quality in gameplay and design, From Staffordshire University,
